We think writing serves three purposes. It enlightens and brightens the lives of our readers; it provides personal growth through expression and realization for the author; and it leaves a legacy for those who follow us.
In the business world, authoring and publishing a book aligned with your services, products, or training can jump start business growth and enhance your personal cachet.
Let us help you achieve your goals.
Writing a self-improvement, how-to, or business book or article? You've come to the right place. Let us copy edit and proofread your manuscript.
We also offer Proof Light©, an economical service after your manuscript has been edited and typeset.
We copy edit and proof book descriptions, query letters, website content, testimonials, and book covers.
What sets us apart?
Copy editing - checks for style, grammar, punctuation, word usage, sentence structure and spelling. Retains the author's style and "voice."
Proofreading - post formatting, proofreading checks for text-element discrepancies, grammar and punctuation consistency, errors in headings, tables, and listings; visual error elements such as mechanical faults, spacing errors, word division faults, numbering faults, and graphics errors.
Proof Light© - Is your manuscript already edited by a great editor? If you only need formatting, visual, graphic, and text consistency editing use our Proof Light© service.
Testimonials - short positive and punchy reviews "why you should read."
Reviews - longer version of the testimonial.

We are selective taking on work because of demand. We will be straightforward with you on schedule and refer you to others if we cannot meet your requirements.

If proofreading, I will work from your final edited draft (pre-format) to make sure all of the editor requests of the formatter have been performed.
When working on copyediting or proofreading, I schedule five to six hours a day per project. The work is detailed and high intensity. For your project, divide 250 words (average per page) into your total page count and then figure five to seven pages an hour for copyediting, and eight to ten pages per hour for proofreading. Multiply this times the days a week (5) I work on individual projects, and you'll come up with the time for delivery.
For example, your book is 85,000 words long. That would be approximately 340 pages. This equates to a 68-hour copyediting project. Working five hours a day five days a week, this project will take about 2 weeks.
Services include up to three typeset return reviews. If the author decides to re-write the manuscript then extra reviews will incur an hourly fee of $35. NOTE: Reviews are of the changes made by us on the first round of edits.
